I prefer Blake Stone's storyline over Wolfenstein's, because I like science-fiction anytime, over warped history. At least I was until Medal of Honor made everyone think that whoring it out in new installations twice a year was a good idea. I wouldn't pay more than 10 dollars for Blakestone at this point, but it's still a fun game in a nostalgic sense, although I think Wolfenstein was the better of the two, but I'm a sucker for things WWII related. I've never played Planet Strike though, so I can't say much about it. I've tried playing it a few times since then, but of course every time I spend an hour trying to get the floppies to work to no avail. Plus all the secret areas made it pretty fun. Still, interactive health dispensers, interactive scientists, and enemies that get up after you thought you killed them. Fun game, although the whole "you only get 4 weapons" thing annoyed me about both of those games. Eventually I ended up getting the full Blakestone for christmas a year or two later, played through all of it. It was probably around 94 or 95, my friend had a shareware disk with both of them on it and let me borrow it.

It, along with Wolfenstein 3D were the first first person shooters I ever played. don't copy CONFIG.Ah Blakestone, I have some fond memories of that game.Given the game's age, it's not that hard to find the registered version on the net. The 3 episode shareware version is NOT supported, but if there's enough interest I'll look into building an executable for it. It can also be used to verify if you have the correct data files. If you have any other registered version, run the included patch-data tool. You need the 2.10 registered version of the game. don't copy CONFIG.BS6 from the DOS version!.The mouse input handling still has something left to be desired, I plan to rewrite it soon-ish. Aliens of Gold will need about 20 MB disk space, because it converts all the AdLib sound effects and music to samples. I couldn't test it on a real machine yet, but an 030 accelerator with at least 4 MB FastRAM should be enough to run it. The Amiga port is mainly based on NY00123's excellent gamesrc-ver-recreation, with some bits and pieces from refkeen and Boris Bendovsky's bstone port. It was completely eclipsed by Doom, but still received a sequel before JAM Productions closed its doors. It has the same basic gameplay, with some unique elements (friendly NPCs, vending machines, the ability to revisit levels, etc) thrown in. It's a sci-fi James Bond spoof running on an enhanced Wolfenstein 3D engine. Blake Stone is basically what Heretic is to Doom.

This is a project I started last summer, but I only recently found the motivation to work on it again.
